Parti Cina Singapura
Symbol: Four-point star
Presently the earliest registered party in the records, it was previously the Singapore arm of MCA Malaya, which still exists today as Malaysian Chinese Association and is a component of Malaysia's ruling Barisan Nasional. Similar to its counterpart, it was allied to Singapore's UMNO and MIC extensions. On 2 October 1967, it was renamed SCP after a new law came into effect in December 1966 to disallow local parties from being proxies of overseas parties. However, it did not cite this as a reason for name change and proceeded to adopt MCA youth wing's symbol. Thereafter, it entered elections under UNF, which it was a founding party of, until lapsing into inactivity in the seventies.
