Sabah Chinese Association
Founded: October 1962
Dissolved: 1979
The merger of two Chinese-based parties Democratic Party and United Party, with the endorsement of MCA Malaya, resulted in the formation of Borneo Utara National Party or Bunap, which in 1963 changed its name to Sanap. In May 1964, a month after the Malaysia General Election, Sanap absorbed a smaller SCA but took up the latter's name with the aim of uniting the Sabah Chinese community under one banner. Two months after the 1976 Sabah polls where SCA lost all its seats, it broke away from USNO, ending the Sabah Alliance partnership. In 1978, several SCA leaders departed to establish SCCP.
