Radical Party
Founded: 19 June 1951
Dissolved: 1966
A multi-ethnic party started by C. O. Lim and several former UMNO members. By 1954, most members had crossed over to MCA, including Lim Chong Eu. Under N. K. Menon, Radical was part of Penang Alliance from October 1954 but they fell out in 1959 after a leader Oliver Phipps contested as an opposition in the Malayan General Election that year. Several years later, it was de-registered by the Malaysian Registrar of Societies. In 1962, Lim Chong Eu, who had become MCA president, departed with a faction to form UDP.
