Angkatan Keadilan Rakyat
(English: People's Justice Front)
Founded: 15 September 1989
Founded by a splinter of PBS headed by Mark Koding, it joined Sabah BN in 1991. In 1998, it amended its name to include the word "Bersatu". In 1996, a leadership tussle between its top two leaders Pandikar Amin Mulia and Jeffrey Kitingan led to the latter returning to PBS with a large group. On 20 May 2001, AKAR leaders dissolved the party and merged with Sabah UMNO. However, Pandikar quit UMNO and BN, which lost power in the 2018 Malaysia polls, to revive the comatose party in 2019.
