LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY BY-ELECTION 1965

Just a month into Singapore's separation from Malaysia and independence, UPP chief and sole Assemblyman Ong Eng Guan resigned his seat and retired from politics. This last Legislative Assembly elections became a straight fight between the two main parties of PAP and BS.
